About
A Gallery was founded in Gothenburg in 1995 with the official art portfolio for the World Championships in Athletics, featuring some of Sweden’s most influential artists, including Helene Billgren and Ernst Billgren, with an introduction by Peter Dahl.
In 1996, we opened our first gallery. Over the following seventeen years, we ran two exhibition galleries and presented more than one hundred exhibitions, working closely with artists, collectors and the art world. In 2014, A Gallery began moving beyond the traditional gallery model.
Today, we work with Contemporary Art Management.
We advise collectors, owners and companies before, during and long after decisions about art are made — from individual acquisitions and collections to complex projects, buildings, hotels and vessels.
More than three decades in the art world have given us experience, relationships and access. But access alone is not enough. Knowing what matters, what belongs, what to question — and sometimes what not to do — is where experience becomes judgement.
We don’t start with what to buy. We start with why.
A Gallery is based on the Swedish West Coast and in Barcelona, working across Europe and internationally.
